In The Screaming Tower

In the Screaming Tower, it's rather hard to hear someone scream...wouldn't you agree?

I'm done with this Timey-wimey bullshit.

So I was gone for 2 weeks. But I was only gone for 12 hours.
Fucking eldritch time bullshit.
Anyways, allow me to explain some things.

First off, this post deals very heavily with the alternate Fears, so I'll post a handy chart of which one is which here.

The Archangel = The Reaper
The Black Dog = The Dark Hound
The Blind Man = The Sightless Seer
The Brute = The Chained
The Burning Bride = The Veil
The Choir = The Spoken
The Cold Boy = The Snowman
The Convocation = The Hawks
The Dying Man = The Broken
EAT = The Condition
The Empty City = R'lyeh (Ironic, isn't it)
The Eye = The Constable
The Grotesque = The Sleepers
The Intrusion = The Crawlers
The Manufactured Newborn = The Toy
The Mother of Snakes = The Temptress
The Nightlanders = The Shadows
The Plague Doctor = The Virus
The Quiet = The Consumption
The Rake = The Claw
The Red Cap = The Blood
The Slender Man = The Faceless
The Smiling Man = The Deranged
The Unnamed Child = The Forgotten
The Wooden Girl = The Controller

Keep all that in mind while reading this, because I'll be referring to them as such.
Anyways, it all began when I took my knife and went in search of The City Core. Since the City was shaken with constant earthquakes, this made walking through it a tricky business. One misstep and I could be sent careening into an endless fissure. It's times like that when you wish you knew how to drive, but since Sol's promised to teach me how to do so soon, it's not all bad.
It was weird, though, walking through the Empty City when it was, you know, empty. There are usually Nightlanders everywhere, but not this time. Everything was still. Except the fucking ground. It was unnerving as all shit.
Anyways, after about an hour of aimlessly wandering and almost plunging into random fissures to my doom, I reached my destination. A small building that was really just a door and three walls. I entered, walking down the gloomy, dark staircase like I did for analysis several months ago. It was so foreign and odd though, to be back in a place like this.
I got into the main room and was shocked to see what I saw. It was bound. There was a door with large tendrils out of it, grabbing the main core, trying to rip it from it's place. This was R'lyeh, trying to remove The Core from it's place and destroy it. Instinctually, I began cutting the tendrils with my knife, but it wasn't amounting to much. A large tendril came out of the door and smashed me away, a door to R'lyeh opening behind me, and I was thrown into the fray.
The good news is I found where everyone was. The bad news is I crashed head-on into the Virus, who was busy poisoning several Oathbreakers who was trying to protect the Plague Doctor. Fortunately, I crashed into his back, so I was able to slink off before he found me.
I saw Dawson, Lydia, and several other recognizable proxies fighting off the droves of others that survived the last battles, as well as their masters themselves. I could pick out The Slender Man fighting with The Claw, but not much else. I took some time very violently bashing two fake Timberwolf's heads together.
What happened next defied all logic and reason.
The Screaming Tower dropped out of the fucking sky and landed just yards away from where I was standing, obviously crushing anything underneath. Two Nests cheered loudly about them crushing The Blood, or "The Wicked Witch of The East" before being consumed rather gruesomely by a swarm of Crawlers.
All of a sudden, I heard someone yelling, and Mistress burst forth from the Tower with all the Dolls in tow. Like, she literally blew the doors off with explosives for reasons I'll never quite understand, and the fray intensified. I found myself back to back with Tyrone, who was wielding a baseball bat quite proficiently, and between his bludgeoning and my slicing, we were causing a rather nice shower of blood on us. I just wish my trilby was easier to wash.
Somewhere it was said that The Temptress was dead, as was The Dark Hound, leaving 22 remaining. Not a single Fear on our side had died.....until Mistress bit the dust. But barely missing a beat, she popped out of a Doll and continued fighting.
As I was taking great pleasure of slowly murdering a surviving fake Blood Vessel (Or maybe it was on my side, I wasn't particularly picky about killing Blood Vessels) The Quiet/Consumption made an appearance. And began fighting each other.
No, you didn't read that wrong. The Quiet was fighting itself. It's passive, too. I don't get it either, but it was causing a rather large amount of pandemonium as everyone was trying to escape the Vortex. Except two people. The Archangel and The Reaper. Uncaringly, they were fighting, and unexpectedly, they were sucked into the Quiet. The both of them.
The Reaper died instantly, but Archie grabbed onto a streetpole and held fast. Mistress, oddly enough, went over to grab him, when she could've just left him. Everyone stopped and looked at this. Mortal enemies, wanting to kill each other every second of the day, were now trying to save each other.
In the end, Archie failed to hold on and Mistress only got his gas mask. He fell into the void, and anyone dumb enough to look at the body had their flesh burnt off. Mistress was able to escape by way of strings.
She gave the mask to Dawson, who fell on his knees praying. Now that there were considerably less people to fight, it was easier to move around.
One thing I noticed suddenly was a significant absence of the Choir. And Elise. This bothered me, as I wasn't sure if she was even alive or not. I stopped for a moment and mused on the fact that I was watching The Unnamed Child brutally stomp out The Toy and loving every second of it.
I noticed the Spoken were fucking shit up with tanks, then The Manufactured Newborn took over their tank and blew themselves up with it. I didn't remember him being able to do that.
At this point, there were several who had died, yet none (Other than good old Archie) had died on our side.
The ones still alive were:
The Sightless Seer
The Chained
The Veil
Some of The Hawks
The Snowman
Some of The Broken
Some of The Condition
R'lyeh (Obviously)
The Constable
The Sleepers
A handful of The Crawlers (The Convocation were having fun with them)
The Shadows
The Virus
The Consumption
The Claw
The Deranged
The Forgotten
The Controller
17 alternate Fears left.
After fighting my way through some fake timberwolves who were too busy blubbering over their dead master to fight, I watched The Snowman and The Cold Boy fight. They were having a snowball fight, packing as much ice and rock into each one, and I couldn't help but laugh. That ended rather quickly when The Burning Bride walked up to The Snowman and gave him a bear hug. I saw some things in the following seconds that I can't describe and frankly, wouldn't even if I could.
Fighting my way over to Mistress, I saw several broken, discarded shells of her body strewn where she was fighting with The Controller. She was losing, but I also noticed several bodies of The Controller. I moved on, knowing my gawking would only lead to my demise.
I felt claws graze my back. I turned around and was staring right at The Claw.
Have you ever had a knife fight with The Rake? I dunno, some of you might've. But it's interesting. Especially when Darren comes up from behind and beats him over the head with a mop. Yeah, he was torn to shreds, but it was interesting to watch. I took that opportunity to tear The Claw a new one. No, seriously, I shoved it up his ass and cut upwards, eventually carving him up like a Thanksgiving Turkey. Never thought I could kill a Fear, but I managed.
The Eye and The Constable were having laser eye battles in the sky, and I noticed neither of them had good aim. I watched The Eye evaporate a Rose Bride out of the blue. I turned my attention to more important matters, like the fact that there were a flock of Eagles attacking a prehistoric dragonfly not even 10 yards away from me.
America, motherfuckers.
A huge explosion rocked R'lyeh, and I looked over to see what it was. Apparently when The Plague Doctor dies, he explodes germs. Or maybe that was the manner he died. I dunno. All I knew was the fact that the Virus was dead, and The Plague Doctor walked slowly out of a cloud of germs.
An explosion in the sky. I knew we were winning at that point, as I watched the cracked, dry eyeball of The Constable fall and smash against the ground, eye filling going everywhere.
A Grotesque-person rose up from lying on the ground to scream that The Sleepers were killed by The Grotesque.
I could tell we were winning, seeming as how literally just about all the enemy proxies were dead. Here was what was left.
2 or 3 of The Condition
R'lyeh
The Shadows
The Consumption
The Controller
After the The Condition was taken out, I noticed Mistress had tied The Controller to The Screaming Tower. The suction on The Consumption was getting bigger, and doors to The Empty City opened Doors everywhere, and we all flooded the Doors, making sure not to let any of The Shadows in. Then, the tendrils on the Core broke off, and we watched R'lyeh get sucked into the Consumption. There were still some people when R'lyeh got sucked up like a pot noodle, (For example, I watched Lydia save Turnip, who was very disgruntled at losing his book and his glasses) but we couldn't save them. All the doors closed, and then I realized something as The Doors opened to various realms and everyone was filing through the doors.
"Wait a sec! What about The Tower?" I asked her.
"I can answer that." A female voice answered me. Elise was standing behind me, and we kissed as soon as our eyes met. "The Choir and all of us obfuscated a Screaming Tower for Miss Maple and the Dolls to hide in. It was a very odd trojan horse, but it was that that broke through the enemy lines and confused them. The disorientation was when the battle turned tides." And then we kissed again.

"Well, Daniel, I suppose this is it." Dawson walked up to me and shook my hand. "I hate your fucking guts, but it was a good hate." He grinned.
"Where are you going?" I asked him.
He just dropped his head. "Our Father, Who art in heaven, Hallowed by thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven." And pulled the gas mask onto his head.
He swayed a bit, and dropped to the floor. Then he stood up."I'm back, bitches!" he said in the familiar Archangel voice, and then dashed into a Door leading to Bliss. So his power is stored in his gas mask.
Then we went home.
And here I am.
Typing all this out.
And I am tired.

Dead to the world

Mistress lost contact with the Dolls.
There was no one in the Catacombs.
No one in Bliss.
No Nightlanders.
No anyone.
I'm going to find the Empty City Core, providing it still exists.
Wish me luck.

Silence

There's been nothing. Not a word from any of the other Fears. Nothing at all.
Mistress is sending a platoon of Dolls out to the Catacombs.

All we can do is wait.
I've always hated waiting.

I miss Elise.
