Since I really have nothing to post about, except how well I'm recovering (Still bedridden, waiting for the skin to grow back on the bottom of my feet, but pretty decent otherwise. The swelling in my eye has gone down, so I finally see again out of both eyes!)
I'll treat you all to a little story. Why I hate The Red Cap so much. Because she killed my best friend.
It was back in....seventh grade, I believe. I was 12. I had a best friend. Her name was Allison. We had been best friends for years, and we legitimately loved each other, but didn't due to a rather jealous ex-boyfriend of hers.
I was at her house, playing video games with her (I still have the copy of Mario Kart Wii we were playing) and her parents were at work. They trusted me enough to leave her and I alone without worrying we were gonna fuck each other's brains out or anything. Then again, we were 12, so that probably was a contributing factor, but.....I digress. Whatever.
Either way, we had ordered a pizza, and the doorbell rang about five minutes afterwards. Obviously assuming it was the pizza guy, though he was pretty fast, Allison went and opened the door. We were both surprised to see it wasn't the pizza, but a beautiful red-haired woman, and I mean her hair was fucking RED, with a dress to match, standing there.
"Can I help y-y-" Her voice cut off, as the woman coyly whispered to her "Let me in." It was barely audible as she dissolved into red sparks and flew into Allison. The door slammed shut.
She turned to me, blood trickling from her mouth, her eyes, her nose, her ears. She stumbled towards me, blood now streaming down her leg. She turned suddenly on one heel, almost as if she was...a marionette...................................................................................................................................................................................................
Woops, sorry, I sort of zoned out while holding the period key. I guess I'll just leave them all there. Whatever. This is traumatic for me to tell at best, but I guess I might as well tell somebody. Not even Elise knows this, but she will after I publish this......I'm digressing again.
She sort of fell into the kitchen, and pulled out what I guess must've been a knife for carving up thanksgiving turkeys or something massive like that. And then she cut herself, her arms, her torso, her legs. She was the turkey. She turned to me, and that bloody face, that placid grin, the wrecked, ruined face of that sweet, wonderful, slightly tomboyish girl that I had known since preschool...I'll never forget that face, for as long as I live.
Then, falling towards me, she tried to bleed ON ME. I had no clue, of course, what was going on, but now I know. After failing to do this for a little while, due to me backing up around the room to avoid it, The Red Cap left Allison's body, causing Allison to fall to the floor with a resounding thud.
Red calmly walked over to me, and knelt down next to me. "Let me-" She began, but couldn't finish, as her skull caved in from a blow from the closest weapon I could find. An Xbox controller. I swear, those things are fucking lethal. And Nintendo thinks their Wiimote could do some damage.
I left everything as it was, and went over to check Allison's pulse. Nothing. She was gone. So I called the cops. Five minutes and they were there.
I told them a....slightly incorrect version of the story, through my sobbing. I told them that Allison went and answered the door, and Red forced her way in, with the knife (Somehow the fingerprints of the woman were on the knife) and cut up Allison, while she fought her off. After Allison was killed, the woman went after me with the knife, and I knocked it out of her hand (Hence why it was over near Allison rather than Red) and then when she tried to attack me anyways, I caved her head in with the Xbox controller.
I was taken home, where my very sympathetic parents cleaned me up and took me for therapy. The symptoms went away for a little while, but when they came back, my parents finally gave in and the whole family packed up and moved from Maine to Pennsylvania.
Well, there you go, folks, that's why I hate The Red Cap. Now, if you don't mind, I'm just gonna go cry myself to sleep now.

We currently have The Blind Man over here.
He's erasing Daniel's memory.
He'll have no memory of why his left eye is swollen shut.
Or why the skin on his arms was shaved off.
Or why there's a small dent on the back of his head.
Or anything.
Not The Smiling Man's torture.
Not Elise's attempts to help.
Not even releasing the Newborn.
I feel really bad for him.

Torture
I guess I'll be taking over this blog for a little while.....the torture on Daniel hasn't stopped yet. It's been three days, and I still have trouble sleeping, knowing the screams in the Tower are the ones of my boyfriend....he's been through so much, and yet Miss Maple is furious with him. I can understand why, but I still find it a little harsh.
I was called down to the torture chamber (That doubles as the cellar) and there Miss Maple was, standing in front of Daniel. I looked around. The room was lit with candles, made sense considering the fact Daniel had hot wax in his hair. On a dimly lit table over in the corner was a strap on dildo, and it looked wet. Gross. He was strung to the chair he was sitting on, his head hung down. I couldn't see his face, but I knew I probably didn't want to.
"Ah, Elise, you're here." Miss Maple smiled with a pseudo-warmth that made my stomach churn. "Finally. I think you should see him in his current wretched state. People wear their emotions on their sleeve when they're in a state like this."
She grabbed Daniel's head and turned it to face me. It was unharmed, surprisingly, but his glasses had been shattered, the lenses cracked and falling out. He had been crying, that much was obvious, based on how red his eyes were, and the fact that there were dried tear streaks under his eyes.
And then I saw something that horrified me to my very core. There he was. Standing in the other corner and grinning. The Smiling Man. Miss Maple noticed my gaze and smiled again. "I see you've noticed him. Very well, let's begin."
The Smiling Man stepped forward and handed me a bouquet of roses. I accepted them, unable to move or do much of anything. Then began the torture. Miss Maple turned Daniel's head so it faced directly forward. And then The Smiling Man knelt right there, in front of him. Staring into his face. "That's it.....stare into my eyes." Daniel tried to look away, to close his eyes, but he couldn't, due to the strings.
Then he screamed. He screamed more loudly than I've ever heard anyone scream before, even when a member of the Choir got killed. I couldn't help it. I broke down on my knees, sobbing. Here was the person I was in LOVE with, being forced to look right into eyes that can kill.
I couldn't take it anymore. I stood up and tried to grab The Smiling Man's shoulder and yank him away from my lover, but Miss Maple caught me and strung me to the wall. I felt strings around my neck. They began to tighten.
"That's enough, Puppetmeister." Two Choir shadows appeared on the wall, obfuscated sound to sound like two voices. "Do with your Puppets what you wish. But leave our servants out of that. Miss Murray is a valuable member of our organization, so if you wish our alliance to still stand, you will release her unharmed."
"Fine." Miss Maple rolled her eyes (Note how I'm saying all this figuratively, it's more about feeling the emotions she's experiencing rather than actually seeing it) and the strings were released. "Elise. Go. Get out of here. Return to your Valley of Song. Don't come back until I give you permission." Miss Maple shooed me away. And so I left the Screaming Tower.
I should probably explain what the Valley of Song looks like. There are houses, residences for us Grayskins, and many walls that are just there for no reason other than to allow the Choir members to appear to us anywhere.
I found my house, one that's never gotten much use, and unlocked the door, going inside. Everything was all dusty. I obfuscated myself a vacuum, and cleaned the whole place.
Upon going to the "store" which more of a food storage place than anything, since all the food is free, I encountered a higher-up who took my shopping cart and told me that I was to report to the main office. He would take care of my food for me.
The Choir run their operations much like a major corporation, or more like an army than anything else. I went into the main office, and a secretary handed me papers telling me that my title as a field agent had been revoked until further notice. I was to get a desk job at the office and not leave the Valley of Song until further notice. So I'm stuck here. I can't get to Daniel.

Crazed
Hello
everyone, it’s Elise here again… I don’t know what happened to Daniel, but I
know he’s in the basement with Miss Maple. The torture chambers, that is. He’s
been down there for about four hours, and I really hope that screaming isn’t
him. It unfortunately, most likely is. I found a paper on the floor in the
corner as Miss Maple was taking him away. It was written in Black Sharpie. I’ll
transcribe in here.
It’s been
talking to me for a long time. Ever since I captured it. Towerborn must return
to the Tower. Towerborn must be the Tower. Towerborn are the Tower. It won’t

Showing Her True Feathers
Finally, Elise and I made it to Musikfest. And Lydia was there. WAITING FOR US. She told me that she had heard it from a little birdy. So thus began the various escapades of three proxies.
We kind of wandered around for a little bit, then Lydia's stomach noticeably jolted in the direction of the grilled corn stand. "Not now, please." I heard Lydia mutter to her birds. I sighed and bought her some corn. Then what she did was interesting. We went to a section of Musikfest that no one bothered going to, because there was nothing. She then proceeded to lift up her shirt and revealed a giant hole where her belly should've been. The hole was pitch-black, but I could see some glowing yellow eyes. She then stuck the corn into the hole, and it was eaten, cob and all. Guess that's how they eat sometimes.
Also, Lydia, I know you're going to read this, so I might as well say it. Your voice is very reminiscient of Mrs.Fowl from Jimmy Neutron. I would consider taking classes to make your voice sound less like that. They exist, you know.
Anyways, after that, I bought everyone Corn Dogs (Which aren't cheap there, four bucks a piece) and ending up Lydia's because "The birds don't like hotdogs." They do however, seem to have no problem with human flesh. Fucking weirdos.
Then the train blew through. Musikfest runs right alongside the tracks, and the train came speeding through, and I think it hit a few people. But that wasn't what bothered me.
One of the freight doors opened and out spilled Intrusion bugs everywhere. They started skittering everywhere, and everyone was running and screaming. Elise and I opted out, but Lydia stood there, allowing them to crawl over her, a very fake smile on her face. They may be allies, but I doubt Lydia is a fan of that. Either way, I wasn't too worried about her, cause I knew if any tried to invade her, a raven or pterodactyl or dodo or whatever the fuck she has in there would take care of it. As we got out of there, I saw the guy from Cast In Bronze.
"I knew this day would come..." I heard him mutter, pulling two large cans of Raid out from under his carillon and leaping onto it, spraying death upon the invading bugs.
Looking back, I saw many people being taken over by the bugs, slowly being consuming and possessed. The Plague Doctor, standing back there for no explicable reason other than he enjoys festivals, realizing the Intrusion was trying to invade HIM, snapped open the Godsway and left.
We got out of Musikfest, got in Elise's car, and got out of there.
The saddest part of that is, they won't even shut down Musikfest for this. The authorities'll come in, remove the bodies, ask the man wearing all black with the cans of bug spray to please come down from his carillon, and then re-open it tomorrow. At best, the news will say that there was "an accident involving the train" and probably the conductor and engineer will be fired.
I fucking hate human society. I sometimes wonder if that's why I joined Mistress and decided to stay. I don't want to go back. I don't want to become one of them again. I'd much rather stay the monster I am, with all this blood on my hands, then go back to THAT. Whatever. I'm gonna go snuggle with Elise until I fall asleep.

Stealing Something That Obviously Isn't The Declaration of Independence
That's really the only way to describe today.
It started out normally enough, with Elise and I getting ready to go to Musikfest, which started at Noon. However, at 11:00AM, just an hour before we were going to leave, Sylvia burst in our room, quickly exited when she realized Elise and I were having sex, and waited for us to get dressed and come out of the room. "Mistress wants all Dolls to the door of Tower." Sylvia said. Naturally, Elise and I hurried to where Mistress wanted us. Yeah, I know, Elise isn't a Doll, but sometimes I think she herself forgets.
So Mistress was there, as were all the Dolls and Grayskins. The Choir members stood off to the side, standing there with The Blind Man and about 20 Archivists. Strangely enough, there were three people who looked to be shards of the Dying Man. One of them was a normal-looking one, holding a woman on a chain that was growling at everyone nearby. The third was a naked woman, with bright red hair. She was covered in blood.
"Everyone." Mistress spoke. "These are three shards of the Dying Man. They've asked me to call together this meeting, so listen up to what they have. These three are The Instant, The Animal, and The Red Cap."
The Red Cap was the one who spoke after winking at me, causing me to feel the same hatred and anger I felt three years ago when she.....whatever, that isn't important right now.
"I've called you all here to ask you for something. The Archangel currently owns six other shards, and we think they should be freed. We are asking for our help."
"That may be so." said The Blind Man. "But why would we help you, a Fear who isn't aligned with anyone?"
"Because, The Archangel intends to use the shards he's enslaved as a sort of weapon, in order to gain leverage over you all." There was much murmuring amongst everyone, and then it was a possessed Grayskin that spoke.
"What do you propose we do to free these alleged shards?" The Grayskin cocked his head in question, until the neck bones cracked. The Choir member then realized he wasn't currently a shadow and left the body, leaving the Grayskin to collapse on his knees.
"Simple." The Red Cap responded. "We rush Bliss, and get the shards, then get out."
"Are you out of your mind?!" an Archivist yelled. "We'd be killed before we even got to his palace!"
"I think I may have the solution to that." Someone from the back of the Archivist group spoke. He stepped forward, and there he was once again. Jack Of All. "Those hundred dollar bills are proving to be worth more than I initially believed them to, so I'll let Daniel Thompson in on a little secret. But since I know he'll tell you all, I'll just tell you all straightforward. When I removed The Grotesque from The Screaming Tower, I helped them get into somewhere else for exactly twelve hours. From 7pm to 7am tonight, all the timberwolves in Bliss will be caught in a nightmare. Then you'll only have The Archangel to deal with. That's all." Jack of All turned around, and was gone, disappearing into the crowd.
"I'll do it." Mistress nodded to The Red Cap, and The Choir nodded their shadowy forms as well.
"I'm going to have to opt out of this. I'm terribly sorry, but it still seems too risky." The Blind Man stated, and with that, collective robes flouncing in the turn, he and his Archivists walked away.
Cut 7 hours later, we were all in front of Bliss's Door, preparing ourselves. "Remember, we just want the shards, then out of here." Mistress was reminding. "No side trips for timberwolves. The goal will be for everyone to split up and search Bliss. They're most likely in the palace, so The shards, as well as the Choir, myself, and Daniel Thompson, though Daniel's going on the request of The Red Cap." I glared at the bloody, naked woman who just winked at me again. Another pang of hatred.
As soon as the clock struck seven, we rushed into Bliss, noticing how all the timberwolves had just fallen asleep while walking, driving, working. They just dropped into sleep. Many of them were turning and tossing, screaming about their nightmares. Nobody needed to be told twice. They split up, desperate to search their areas and get the hell out of dodge.
On our way to the palace, The Archangel stopped us. "So." He floated there, radiating a hatred unlike that I've ever seen. But I recognized it, because I've felt the same when The Red Cap.....ah, not now. "This is your doing."
"As much as I'd like to claim this as my doing, I'm afraid the credit would go to The Grotesque." Mistress said, floating up to his level. The Choir members shot up the side of the building, matching the other two's height.
Animal, Instant, Red and I took this chance to run. Instant yanked on Animal's chain and hopped on top of her, riding her like a horse, hollering and laughing loudly. What a fucking psycho.
Red and I took one hall, and Instant and Animal took the other. Eventually we found The Dying Man shards, struggling to get free. I picked him up, hefting him over my shoulder, so very grateful the duct tape was still blocking his mouth.
Passing Mistress and the Choir, who were fighting Archie quite well, delaying him from doing anything else. Archie hadn't even noticed us, despite Instant's yelling. I handed the shard man to Instant, who grabbed Red as well, and they all left as fast as they could. Mistress and The Choir decided it was time to fall back, and began retreating as well.
Once the Archangel lunged at them, he managed to catch one of the Choir members, holding it to the ground and beginning to strangle him. "You're not going anywhere!" He screeched, furiously strangling it. The Choir member began screeching. We all stopped and watched. The strangled Choir member made some sort of motion to the others, and the Choir members fled, and motioned for us to do the same. We followed, knowing not to let the Choir die in vain.
Once we were out, we kept running, the other groups having all left by then, following us. We didn't stop till we reached The Tower.
Now, lying here in bed, I'm wondering. Was it really all worth it? Was it really worth losing one of them for this? Whatever.

Seeing Red
So I was woken up early this morning by Elise, who said Mistress actually had a job for me. Since I didn't go to Musikfest on Friday, this kind of bothered me, but I got up and dressed anyways, cause I know Mistress doesn't like being kept waiting.
When I got to Mistress's room, she was laying across her chair, as she often does, and it made me wonder if she ever actually lied down on the bed in the corner. Considering all the dust and how well-kept it always looks, I doubt it, but whatever. "So, we have a problem. One of our own has killed herself." She said, standing up.
"Was it Cat? I know she had been having trouble with the Grotesque." I asked, stunned and startled by this sudden and devastating news. If Cat really had killed herself, then it would've been my fault because I didn't say anything.
"No, it was Blondie." Mistress sighed, tossing Elise a box. "Daniel, open it." She ordered. I opened it, and there was her decapitated head, right there in the box, looking strangely peaceful. "It was sent by timberwolf. However, we did shoot the messenger. Which brings me to my job for you." She explained.
"You want me to get revenge on the timberwolves?" I asked her.
"No, no. Do you know who Jack Of All is?" She asked me.
"Yes...I know quite well who he is. Why?" I asked her, feeling myself tense up.
"Who is he?" Elise asked me.
"Jack Of All is a being who works with or against the Fears. He does deals, but the only ones who only truly benefit from Jack's dealings is Jack." I replied.
"Yes, and I've set up a meeting with you and him. He could help us be rid of our little problem with The Grotesque." Mistress said. "I have something you could use to barter with him." She smiled, handing me a briefcase. "If you'd open it." She smiled wider, and I complied. It was full of 100 dollar bills.
"These are just bills." I replied, looking at her quizzically.
"Not quite." Mistress said, picking up a bill and handing it to Elise. "Here you go. Put it in your pocket." She told her.
"Thanks, Miss Maple!" Elise's eyes lit up, and she put it in her pocket.
"I want that bill back." Mistress said, and before Elise could even reach into her pocket, the bill materialized in Mistress's hand, now strangely gone from Elise's pocket.
"Where did you get that?" I asked her, stunned.
"The building with The Quiet." Mistress replied, putting the bill in her pocket. "Give those to Jack, he should be able to take care of anything we need." She told me, and I closed the briefcase.
"Where am I meeting him?" I asked her.
"Remember the Fraidy-cats bar in Vegas?" She asked me.
"Yes." I sighed, not having fond memories of the place.
"It's there. During Proxy Hour." She said.
"Yes, Mistress." I sighed, and bade her good-bye, leaving with Elise. "I'm not happy about going back." I told her out in the parking lot.
"It isn't all bad. The timberwolves that weren't blown up by Sylvia's missiles shouldn't give you any trouble." Elise replied, as we got in her car.
Long story short, we went to Vegas, got into the casinos with Fake IDs and blew off a few hundred dollars that I had lying around, being careful not to use any of Jack's money, because this deal was important.
Come Proxy Hour, we were there at 10:10 or so, and the bouncer didn't even ask who we were before letting us in. He just knew, and we walked in easily. Once inside, we saw quite a few familiar faces. The Camper section about the same, while the Slenderproxy group had diminished, though the Maenad population had increased. The three timberwolves still alive took a quick glance at me and decided they didn't want to fuck with me this time. Looking over at the Doll section, it looked desolate and lonely with no one there.
Fortunately, I was going to sit at the bar. Elise decided to wait in the care. Leaving me, the briefcase, and the man with the gloved right hand with the flask at the bar alone.
"Jack?" I asked, walking over to him.
"Thompson." He replied. "I've been waiting for you. Please, sit. Drink is on me." Jack smiled, beckoning for me to sit on the stool next to him. I ordered a Root Beer from the bar and sat down. "So, why did your most lovely Mistress call me here to talk with you?"
"We're having a bit of a....problem with dreams." I replied, enjoying being coy with things just as much as he did. "We think you can help."
"Ah. Them. Yes, they've been giving plenty of people trouble recently. I have my suspicions they may have joined up with The Eye. The two of them have been affecting many people recently." Jack replied. "But now you want me to essentially rid them from the Screaming Tower?"
"Correct." I replied.
"And I assume the lovely cash sum in the metal suitcase is my reward? You can keep it, I don't need any more money. There's no way I'm working for mere money." Jack sighed.
"Ah, but this is special money." I responded. "Would you like a demonstration?" I asked him, taking a hundred dollar bill out of the suitcase and handing it to him. "Just give it to someone." I told him.
Jack looked at me quizzically, and then had an idea. "Let's go elsewhere. I know someone we can give it to." He gave the bartender a 50 and left. He really didn't need any more money. I followed him down the street a ways, before he stopped. "Someone's following us."
"My ride." I said, pointing back to Elise, who was following us a few blocks back. Since this part of Vegas really didn't get that much traffic this time of night, it wasn't a problem.
"Ah." Jack responded, turning and continuing. Eventually, he found a homeless man sitting on the side of the road. He gave the man the 100, and continued walking.
"May the lord bless you, sir!" The homeless man called to him as he walked away, me right by Jack's side. Then we stopped at the corner.
"I assume this is where the special part comes in?" Jack raised an eyebrow.
"Just say that you want it back." I told him. He spoke, and the bill appeared in his hand, leaving the homeless man frantically searching the area around him for the 100 dollar bill he just had in his hand.
Jack walked a few blocks further, his face knotted in a strange frown, holding a finger up to my mouth every time I began speaking to shut me up.
Once a we were a few blocks from the homeless man, Jack let out a loud, hearty laugh, his expression softening. "Sir, you have yourself a deal!" He grinned. "Just for the havoc I could cause with this!" He took off his glove, revealing his crimson right hand.
"And the Grotesque?" I asked him.
"Good as gone." He replied, and I finally shook his hand. When I did, there was an inhuman quality about him that I didn't trust....but I liked him. I handed him the briefcase with my other hand, and once we were done shaking, he gave me a small card. "My business card." He smiled. "You want to make any more deals, you just give old Jack a ring." He smiled, then without another word, turned and walked away. I turned around to see Elise pull up beside me. Then, when I turned back, Jack Of All was gone. I put the business card in my pocket, wondering just what deep shit Mistress had gotten us in this time.
That was my day, essentially. Tomorrow I should be going to Musikfest. If anything of interest happens, I'll let you know.

On Blogs and Festivals
So it seems Mistress is giving me a break, considering everything that's been going on recently. It's basically been non-stop since Mid-May. I haven't received any assignments for a few days, so I've been filling in that void with reading the blogs of others. My most recent; Cumulonimbusaurus Rex, and I intend on reading The Most Dangerous Game next. From what I can tell from the comments he's made, Proxiehunter does NOT like Dolls, so I'll have fun laughing at that.
Also, Elise and I'll be able to relax tomorrow! In the old city I used to live in, Bethlehem, PA, there's a big festival called Musikfest. It runs August 2-11. I'll be there just about every day with Elise. If there's any runners or Proxies out there who want to like, hang out, I'm willing. Unless you're a timberwolf or Maenad. But anyone else I'm okay with. Don't worry, I don't bite. Much.
However, I will still have my knife on me, so don't try any funny business. But yeah, if anybody does want to hang out, just lemme know, and we can arrange a time and place. Food's on me.
Something that has been bothering me recently, however, is Cat's talk of strange dreams. She says there's a circus where everybody has the same face. I told her all about the Grotesque, and now she's a little leery of sleep in general. Last night at 3:00AM, I got up to use the bathroom, and there she was, still awake, reading. She had 5 empty pots of coffee beside her, and was working on a sixth, drinking it right out of the pot. Poor girl was wired.
Either way, I might post at odd times these next few days. I'll be staying out late at Musikfest, and based on when I get back, I'm either gonna go straight to bed or post when I come back. So I may be posting in the afternoon instead.
